Job summary

The University at Albany, State University of New York seeks a Campus Planner to guide long-range facility master plans and program development. Working within the Planning, Design, and Construction team, you will bridge data analysis with project management to align campus growth with academic and operational needs.

You will lead planning studies, engage stakeholders, and ensure spaces support strategic goals while incorporating sustainability principles and compliance across university

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in architecture, urban planning, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant planning experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree with 3+ years planning experience or Bachelor's with 7+ years planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning studies and projects that support university-wide physical development and long-term campus vision.
• Work with Data Analysis and Space Management to translate data into space and program requirements.
• Develop scopes, procure consultative services, and lead studies like Facility Master Plan and Historic Preservation Plan.
• Conduct space utilization studies and align space standards with DASM.
• Plan for new construction, renovations, and expansions within financial feasibility.
• Coordinate with leadership, provide program documentation for design and budgeting phases.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility, and energy standards.
• Engage with campus community and external partners to align planning with community needs.
