Job summary

University at Albany is seeking a Campus Planner to support strategic planning and program development within the Planning, Design, and Construction team. The role will translate data and space needs into project scope, coordinating with DASM to align facilities with institutional goals.

Ideal candidates will have a strong planning background, experience with AutoCAD/ArcGIS, and the ability to present findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in architecture, urban planning, or related fields.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in planning.
• Experience in higher education setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead space & facilities planning studies to support university-wide development and long-term campus vision.
• Utilize data on space utilization, enrollment trends, and demographics to inform planning decisions.
• Develop scope, procure services, and lead master and related long-range plans.
• Conduct space utilization studies and implement university space standards for efficiency.
• Plan for construction, renovations, and expansions aligned with academic goals and budgets.
• Coordinate with DASM and PDC, ensure compliance with codes and sustainability mandates.
• Prepare reports for senior leadership and stakeholders on planning initiatives.
