Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a Sr. Planner to lead campus master planning and space optimization.

You will coordinate with academic and administrative stakeholders, support capital development, and guide strategic facility and asset management initiatives across academic, administrative, athletic, and residential programs. This hybrid role offers involvement in capital budgeting, external consultants, and multiple campus initiatives, aligned with UNM’s long-term programmatic goals and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
• Master’s degree in Architecture, Planning or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in campus master planning studies, long-term facility management and land planning activities.
• Manages production of planning documents, reports, feasibility studies, concept plans, facility plans, special studies, and environmental design projects.
• Collaborates with Provost and space management to analyze efficiency of space allocations and strategize space needs.
• Provides strategic leadership to facility and asset management efforts.
• Guides benchmarking, technology, and space projections to establish capital projections.
• Assists with the annual capital budget and 5-year capital budget update.
• Supports Campus Capital & Space Planning projects with program scopes and revisions.
• Participates in committees and working groups related to campus environment and facilities.
