Job summary

Gilbarco Veeder-Root, a Vontier company, is seeking a Strategic Buyer to support the commodity team in supplier development and management for key products and technologies. You will work with engineers and procurement to secure quality, delivery, and cost targets while supporting focus factories and corporate commodity initiatives.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and purchasing experience with strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required.
Two years or more purchasing experience is preferred.
Sound presentation skills and the ability to communicate at senior levels are key.

Responsibilities

Act as primary interface for Gilbarco and its customers to communicate to suppliers the needs and expectations of product quality, delivery performance and overall company goals.
Manage suppliers to coordinate selection for quality, delivery, and cost improvements.
Collaborate with Engineering to execute change notices and manage supplier transitions with minimal working capital impact.
Benchmark market conditions to forecast cost drivers for the commodity and identify savings opportunities.
Negotiate supplier agreements to improve year-over-year performance in quality, delivery, cost, and collaboration.
