Job summary

Ascentec Engineering in Tualatin, OR, seeks a skilled Buyer to plan, source, and procure materials and services for semiconductor manufacturing. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality, and Sales to ensure material availability while balancing cost, quality, inventory, and delivery.

This onsite role requires a 4-year degree and 3+ years in purchasing in manufacturing, with ERP/MRP experience and strong negotiation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience using ERP/MRP procurement systems (SAP/Epicor/Oracle, Netsuite).
• Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, qualify, and manage suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery performance, technical capability, capacity, and reliability.
• Create, issue, and manage purchase orders (POs), ensuring accuracy in pricing, quantities, specifications, delivery schedules, and contractual requirements.
• Expedite orders and proactively manage supplier commitments to ensure uninterrupted production and on-time customer delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support long-term partnerships and improved performance.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and collaborate to address delivery, quality, service, and cost issues.
• Support supplier negotiations related to pricing, terms, lead times, contracts, and service agreements.
