Job summary

Brooks Instrument, part of ITW, seeks a Buyer/Planner at its Hatfield, PA headquarters. The role focuses on planning, purchasing, and scheduling production to meet customer demand while managing inventory and supplier relationships.

Candidates should have 5+ years in manufacturing and a bachelor’s degree, with APICS CPIM preferred. Responsibilities include releasing POs, maintaining schedules, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Brooks/ITW network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment including planning, buying and inventory control.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work across functions.
• Proficient with computers and Excel; strong written and verbal communication.
• Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, purchase and schedule production activities to meet customer needs and service levels.
• Provide lead times to sales & business teams based on activity.
• Manage inventory to meet goals for active, slow and obsolete stock while ensuring timely delivery.
• Review production schedules and report status of the supply chain; flag deviations.
• Release shop floor orders and maximize on-time delivery using scheduling tools.
• Read and communicate component specifications to suppliers and understand drawings.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and ERP system activities.
