Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Buyer/Planner to plan, purchase, and coordinate materials for manufacturing while maintaining optimal inventory levels. You will work with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Suppliers to meet production schedules and drive improvements.

Responsibilities include creating production plans, issuing work orders, maintaining MRP messages, negotiating with suppliers, and managing inventory to minimize excess, while supporting new product introductions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing, planning, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment (SAP preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production and material plans based on forecasts, orders, and schedules.
• Issue and maintain Production Work Orders; review MRP messages for material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels; adjust planning parameters to optimize supply and demand.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve shortages and schedule changes.
• Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, tooling, and indirect supplies.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery with suppliers; monitor performance and quality.
