Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Buyer/Planner to coordinate procurement and planning for manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. The role ensures timely acquisition of raw materials, components, and services to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

The position collaborates with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Suppliers to mitigate supply risks, optimize inventory, and drive continuous improvements across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing, planning, manufacturing, or supply chain experience.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment (SAP preferred).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production and material plans based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and manufacturing schedules.
• Issue and maintain Production Work Orders.
• Review MRP messages and take appropriate actions to ensure material availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and adjust planning parameters to optimize supply and demand alignment.
• Coordinate with production teams to resolve material shortages and schedule changes.
• Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, tooling, and indirect supplies.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery commitments with suppliers.
• Maintain supplier delivery schedules and expedite orders when required.
• Manage excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory reduction initiatives.
• Develop strong supplier relationships to improve reliability and performance.
