Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Buyer/Planner in Aurora, Colorado to manage day-to-day procurement, including creating and managing purchase orders for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging. You will ensure timely material arrival to support production and customer service while balancing inventory, shelf-life, and supplier lead times.

Work closely with Production Planning, Operations, Warehouse, Quality, and Procurement to maintain material flow, resolve supply risks, and drive cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, operations, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 2+ years in purchasing, planning, inventory control, materials management, supply chain, or procurement operations.
• Food manufacturing/CPG/packaging experience preferred.
• ERP systems experience required; Dynamics 365 a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for reports, data analysis, and replenishment decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment with tight timelines.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with data accuracy.
• Excellent communication with suppliers and cross-functional partners at plant/corporate levels.
• Hands-on, service-oriented approach with ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Manage full PO lifecycle for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and supplies.
• Track open POs daily to ensure on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery dates, quantities, pricing, and changes.
• Identify and elevate supply risks like delays and shortages.
• Collaborate with Production Planning, Operations, Warehouse, Quality, and Procurement teams.
• Balance inventory and service levels while managing working capital and shelf-life constraints.
• Analyze inventory, demand signals, and supplier lead times for replenishment.
• Maintain accurate supplier, inventory, purchasing, and delivery data in ERP systems.
• Support procurement and inventory metrics such as on-time delivery and aging inventory.
• Resolve issues related to invoices, pricing discrepancies, and receiving errors.
• Ensure materials meet supplier, food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
