Job summary

Dover Food Retail in Conyers, GA is seeking a Buyer to manage purchasing and planning to support the production schedule. The Buyer will work as part of a cross-functional team to identify low-cost, high-quality, reliable sources of supply in line with our strategic objectives.

The role involves issuing POs, expediting deliveries, negotiating with suppliers, maintaining inventory, and using ERP data to drive contracts and forecasts. 2+ years purchasing and ERP experience required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' purchasing experience.
• Bachelor's degree or 5 years' relevant experience required.
• ERP experience preferred including Visual & Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Issue POs daily in response to demand signals (Kanban, MRP, Min/Max).
• Expedite deliveries to ensure on-time assembly.
• Collaborate with departments to manage pricing and lead times.
• Identify alternate materials to prevent production delays or excess inventory.
• Maintain supplier relations and professional company image.
• Use ERP data for demand history and quotes with suppliers.
• Forecast future demand to suppliers using historical data.
• Issue debit memos for material changes.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support safety stock and turns.
• Seasonally adjust purchase volumes to meet objectives.
• Identify root causes of material tracking errors and BOM issues.
• Coordinate with finance/engineering to disposition E&O material.
