Job summary

New Flyer, North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, is seeking a Buyer to execute the material supply plan and maintain timely supplier communication to support production needs.

You will develop and sustain professional relationships with suppliers, resolve supply-related issues, and ensure data integrity in Oracle while supporting first article documentation and secure shipments to our facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, supply chain, industrial engineering) or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management practices.
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Innovative problem solver with the capability to develop workable solutions and address challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete transactions in Oracle accurately to maintain data integrity and ensure that performance targets are met.
• Develop and sustain a professional relationship with suppliers and customers.
• Maintain supplier communication to ensure they have accurate information to support the business plan.
• Resolve supply related issues with suppliers.
• Submit engineering documentation to suppliers on a timely basis and support first article documentation requirements.
• Support traffic personnel in securing required documentation for secure shipment of goods to our facilities.
