Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Buyer to execute the material supply plan and collaborate with suppliers to support production needs. The role emphasizes timely communications, data integrity in Oracle, and strong supplier relationships.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in purchasing in manufacturing, with advanced MS Office and MRP knowledge to optimize inventory and ensure smooth deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, supply chain, industrial engineering) or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management practices.
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Innovative problem solver with the capability to develop workable solutions and address challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Complete transactions in Oracle accurately to maintain data integrity and ensure that performance targets are met.
• Develop and sustain a professional relationship with suppliers and customers.
• Maintain supplier communication to ensure they have accurate information to support the business plan.
• Resolve supply related issues with suppliers.
• Submit engineering documentation to suppliers on a timely basis and support first article documentation requirements.
• Support traffic personnel in securing required documentation for secure shipment of goods to our facilities.
