Job summary

New Flyer, a leading North American heavy‑duty transit bus manufacturer, seeks a Buyer to execute material plans for production, maintain supplier communications, and resolve supply issues. This role supports engineering and traffic teams to ensure timely documentation and secure shipments to our facilities.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, plus 3 years in manufacturing purchasing, with strong Excel/PowerPoint and MRP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, supply chain, industrial engineering) or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management practices.
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Innovative problem solver with the capability to develop workable solutions and address challenges.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain effective professional relationships.
• Supply Chain Management Designation is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete transactions in Oracle accurately to maintain data integrity and ensure that performance targets are met.
• Develop and sustain a professional relationship with suppliers and customers.
• Maintain supplier communication to ensure they have accurate information to support the business plan.
• Resolve supply related issues with suppliers.
• Submit engineering documentation to suppliers on a timely basis and support first article documentation requirements.
• Support traffic personnel in securing required documentation for secure shipment of goods to our facilities.
