Job summary

FreshEdge is hiring a Buyer to drive procurement strategy, manage daily replenishment, and maintain optimal inventory levels across the hub network. You will manage vendor relationships, analyze trends, and collaborate with warehouse operations to resolve shortages and optimize costs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in purchasing within distribution or food service, with strong Excel and ERP experience, and a focus on margins and inventory productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, buying, or procurement experience in distribution/wholesale/food service.
• Experience with inventory replenishment, demand planning, or supply chain operations.
• Familiarity with vendor management processes including vendor setup, documentation, and rebate administration.
• Solid understanding of margins, cost structures, and inventory productivity metrics.
• Experience in a multi-site, decentralized, or hub-and-spoke distribution environment is preferred.
• Proficient PC skills in ERP and purchasing workflows (Produce Pro) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Key FP&A leader contributing to strategy, planning, and business performance management for FreshEdge and family of companies.
• Manage daily replenishment activities to maintain inventory levels across all product categories at the hub facility.
• Purchase products based on demand signals, inventory targets, supplier lead times, and order minimums.
• Partner with warehouse operations to address inventory challenges, shortages, substitutions, and receiving issues in real time.
• Monitor inventory levels and trends to improve product availability and minimize obsolescence.
• Analyze purchasing trends, forecasts, and inventory data to support sound buying decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal OpCos to understand product needs, service expectations, and seasonal demand patterns.
• Communicate deals and promotions to OpCo sales teams for pricing advantages.
