Job summary

Johnson Outdoors Inc. is seeking a Buyer to drive material planning and procurement for domestic and global demand.

You will place purchase orders, manage supplier schedules, and use analytics to summarize status and escalate issues. Key focus on inventory alignment, risk mitigation, and cost control within a consumer goods manufacturing context. You will collaborate with internal teams to optimize working capital and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or equivalent.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of buying/procurement in manufacturing consumer goods.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to solve complex problems using data-driven reasoning.
• Proficiency in using MRP software, Excel, and automation tools for analytics.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain management, production planning, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials to meet MRP planned orders and support on-time delivery.
• Place purchase orders and manage supplier delivery schedules.
• Summarize supplier status using analytics and escalate issues as needed.
• Identify shortages, nonconforming material, and obsolete stock and resolve.
• Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts.
• Collaborate with internal teams on inventory and working capital improvements.
