Job summary

Slate Auto LLC is seeking a Buyer – Fasteners and Consumables in the USA. You will own end-to-end procurement for industrial fasteners and MRO consumables, collaborating with engineering, operations, finance, and maintenance to manage POs, RFQs, supplier agreements, and spend analytics.

Responsibilities include sourcing, quoting, and managing POs for fasteners and MRO items, interpreting drawings, negotiating pricing, and driving inventory optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain ops experience; fastener/MRO experience a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing or automotive environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure fasteners and consumables end-to-end, ensuring on-time delivery and competitive pricing.
• Source, quote, and manage POs for bolts, screws, nuts, washers, rivets and specialty hardware.
• Manage MRO consumables like cutting tools, adhesives, sealants, lubricants, abrasives and PPE.
• Interpret drawings and specs to ensure correct fastener grade and material.
• Negotiate pricing and supplier agreements to reduce unit costs and stockouts.
• Monitor consumption trends and right-size inventory with production teams.
• Conduct spend analysis and benchmark pricing against market standards.
• Support standardization initiatives with engineering to reduce variation.
• Maintain PO records and lifecycle documentation; update contracts as needed.
• RFQ management: distribute, chase responses, and organize quotes.
• Develop dashboards and reports for procurement decision-making and budget tracking.
• Collaborate with finance on cash flow and cost-control.
• Share insights to improve team efficiency and procurement visibility.
