Job summary

Slate Auto is seeking a Buyer – Fasteners and Consumables to oversee end-to-end procurement of industrial fasteners and MRO consumables. You will work with engineering, operations, finance, and maintenance to manage POs, RFQs, and supplier contracts, ensuring on-time delivery and cost competitiveness.

The role requires 2–4 years in procurement, experience in manufacturing or automotive, and proficiency in ERP/MRP systems with strong Excel and data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations; fastener or MRO category management is a plus.
• Experience in manufacturing or automotive environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source, quote, and manage purchase orders for industrial fasteners.
• Manage MRO consumables like cutting tools, adhesives, sealants, lubricants, PPE.
• Interpret engineering drawings and part specifications for correct fastener grade and material.
• Negotiate pricing and supply agreements with vendors to reduce unit costs.
• Monitor consumption trends and right-size inventory to reduce waste.
• Conduct spend analysis and support supplier selection and negotiation.
