Job summary

Voith Hydro North America in York, PA is seeking a Sr. Buyer to procure fabrication and machining commodities and manage supplier relationships.

You will work with internal stakeholders to ensure quality, cost, and on-time delivery for projects in the North American market. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in purchasing or supply chain, experience with SAP, and strong negotiation and communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Manufacturing or purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience with SAP software.

Responsibilities

• Identify and select qualified vendors based on business requirements; introduce new/alternative suppliers.
• Develop purchasing specifications by analyzing technical data, designs and quality requirements.
• Determine manufacturability and value of engineered components.
• Source welded fabrications and machine parts with direct knowledge.
• Manage RFQs in the OTO/OTC project phases.
• Procure and manage commodities with best quality and cost efficiency.
• Build collaborations with suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs.
• Demonstrate strong negotiation skills across cycles.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Be self-directed, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
