Job summary

The Bolton Group is seeking a Buyer to support strategic sourcing and procurement activities in Charleston, SC. You will plan, purchase, and manage materials and services to meet production needs while driving cost efficiency.

You will collaborate with engineering, production, planning, and finance to ensure reliable supply, negotiate contracts, and optimize supplier performance. Strong ERP/MRP experience and BOM interpretation are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with ERP/MRP systems
• Proven track record in supplier negotiations and cost reduction
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and BOMs
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• BS/BA in supply chain or related field

Responsibilities

• Plan, procure, and expedite materials to support production schedules and capital projects
• Manage assigned commodities and supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and quality performance
• Utilize ERP systems to manage material requirements, planning parameters, and data integrity
• Create and maintain purchase orders aligned with production demand and system signals
• Lead supplier negotiations around pricing, delivery terms, and contracts to reduce cost and mitigate risk
• Identify and onboard new suppliers in partnership with engineering and quality teams
• Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and value engineering initiatives
• Monitor supplier performance and implement improvements related to lead times, quality, and delivery
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, planning, and finance teams
• Proactively identify and supply chain risks, shortages, or capacity constraints
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency
