Job summary

Lockton seeks a Business Development Coordinator to support Producers in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities. You will research prospects, generate meeting opportunities, and nurture contacts to help close more deals.

Key responsibilities include market research, lead generation, client relationship management, and coordinating cross-functional project work with Account Managers and Analysts. You will also prepare client materials and support events and initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in project management, operations, consulting support, or a similar professional services environment.
• Experience in employee benefits, insurance, consulting, or related professional services preferred.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing demands.
• Ability to operate independently while partnering closely with a senior stakeholder.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility across teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and follow-through capabilities.
• Comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with CRM or project management tools a plus.
• Comfortable leveraging AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency, organization, and quality of work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industries, and trends.
• Gather information on competitors and market conditions to support business development strategies.
• Assist in identifying and qualifying potential leads through various channels, including online research and networking events.
• Coordinate prospect meeting details and support development and maintenance of client relationships.
• Own and track timelines across multiple client-facing and internal projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate work across Account Managers, Analysts, and other internal stakeholders to drive projects forward.
• Maintain visibility into open items, next steps, and dependencies; ensure timely follow-up.
• Support special projects, including client events, internal initiatives, and cross-functional efforts.
• Assist with development and organization of presentations, materials, and meeting agendas.
• Leverage project management and CRM tools to track progress, tasks, and key touchpoints.
