The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking a Budget Team Lead to manage the agency's budgeting function, supervise the Budget staff, and deliver external budget reports. You will monitor cash flow, analyze financial data, and respond to requests from the Governor’s Office and LBB.

The role requires strong leadership and expertise in state budgeting. Expose yourself to legislative appropriations, operating budgets, and fiscal notes while coordinating with the Budget Director and the Financial

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or related field (education may be substituted year-for-year).
• Six years of progressively responsible budgeting/finance experience in Texas state government.
• Experience with USAS, ABEST, CAPPS.
• One year in a managerial/supervisory role.

Mansioni

• Plan, assign, and supervise the budget department’s work.
• Prepare and oversee Legislative Budget Board reports and related fiscal notes.
• Develop and monitor internal budgets and policies; advise on amendments.
• Conduct monthly financial reviews and present to Division Directors.
• Interpret financial data and ensure compliance with statutes and regulations.
• Assist with grant proposals and federal reimbursement invoices.
• Oversee budget adjustments and transfers; support position control.
