The New York State Department of Financial Services is seeking qualified budget staff to assist in developing the annual budget request and monitoring expenditures for non-personal services and capital projects. You will support data collection, reporting, and coordination with the Division of the Budget and other agencies.

Candidates should have multiple years of budget estimation and expenditure control experience, with substitutions allowed for certain degrees.

Formación

• Four years of experience in budget estimation, justification, and expenditure control functions.
• Five to six years of experience depending on level (Trainee 1/2 or Journey Level).
• Substitutions allow degrees to substitute for years of experience (AA/BA/MA/J.D.).
• Eligible list and NY HELPS program requirements may apply.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the development of the DFS State Budget Request and implementing the enacted State Budget.
• Assist in agency cash and appropriations management.
• Monitor agency’s non-personal service expenditures and assist with projections.
• Manage suballocated funding for other state agencies.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports and budgetary documentation.
• Review and monitor Capital Projects budgets and expenditures.
• Support procurement, program managers, and agency administrators with data on spending needs.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
