Job summary

The Budget Analyst position supports the New York State Senate's Special Projects team, tracking federal policy and budget developments impacting New York State and local governments. Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or near completion) in economics, public policy, public administration, law, political science, or related field.
• Strong writing, quantitative, analytical, and computer skills.
• Ability to analyze budget requests and fiscal practices.
• Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends during legislative session.
• Familiarity with State legislative process; Excel proficiency preferred.

Key qualifications

• Master's Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Public Administration, Law, Political Science, or related field (or near completion); or Bachelor's Degree with extensive State Budgetary or Legislative Fi
• Strong writing, quantitative, analytical, and computer skills
• Ability to analyze budget requests and fiscal practices
• Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated attention to detail
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends during legislative session
