Job summary

Fulton County Schools is seeking a Budget Analyst III to perform advanced budgetary analysis and financial management, collaborating with school-based and administrative staff to support budget development, monitoring and reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in business, finance, or accounting and at least five years in finance; experience with public school budgeting is preferred. You will help improve efficiency and provide training as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent experience (2 years = 1 year of college).
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience; public school budgeting preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of budget development and forecasting for school districts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support annual budget development, forecasting, and planning.
• Analyze financial data to project resources and inform decisions.
• Review budget submissions for accuracy and alignment with objectives.
• Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain budget processes and reporting tools.
• Provide training and technical assistance to budget managers.
• Collaborate to analyze salary and benefit impacts on operating budgets.
• Prepare budget reports and the annual Budget Book for leadership and boards.
• Maintain budget information on public platforms and respond to ad hoc requests.
