Flagpoles Etc. in Wixom, MI is seeking an experienced bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounts payable and receivable and maintain accurate QuickBooks records. You will ensure proper coding and resolve discrepancies to keep the books telling the right story.

This hands-on role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to follow issues through to resolution, and collaboration with sales, operations, and ownership on billing questions.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on bookkeeping experience (AP and AR).
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations.
• Experience finding and correcting errors, not just data entry.
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to ask questions when numbers don’t add up.

Responsibilities

• Enter and review vendor bills, expenses, customer invoices, payments, and credits in QuickBooks.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable with timely follow-up on outstanding items.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and investigate differences.
• Review transactions for proper coding, documentation, and completeness.
• Help close out customer projects by ensuring related costs, payments, and invoices are accurate.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and ownership to resolve billing questions.
• Keep financial records organized and support month-end close.
