Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. You will manage bookkeeping, payroll processing, and client-facing activities to support our tax and advisory services.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience and familiarity with GAAP, confidential data handling, and strong organizational skills. Preference given to candidates with Xero experience and applicable certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications, or the ability to obtain certifications.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
