Job summary

Bionova Scientific LLC in Fremont, CA, seeks a Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance in a biotech/CDMO environment. You will own milestone-based revenue recognition, capex tracking, and cost accounting, partnering with BD and PM teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Independent but collaborative leader, you will drive monthly close, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP improvements while mentoring the accounting team in a high-growth setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience; 5+ years in biotech/pharma/CDMO.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
• Hands-on milestone accounting, project-based financials, and contract review.
• ERP experience (QAD, SAP, NetSuite or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
• Manage revenue recognition for CDMO contracts and milestone payments.
• Oversee cost accounting for GMP and non-GMP operations; track project margins.
• Drive ERP enhancements to streamline reporting and integration with PM tools.
