Ideal candidates have college accounting coursework or a degree, 1–3+ years of law‑firm billing experience, and proficiency with CMS, Elite, and Javelin or equivalent software, plus MS Office.

Qualifications

• College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 or more years hands‑on billing experience in a law firm.
• CMS, Elite, Javelan (or equivalent accounting software) experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
• Ability to organize work flow and use time efficiently; strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to a dynamic, changing work environment and priorities.
• Flexibility to work varied hours; possibly weekends or evenings.

Responsibilities

• Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required.
• Maintain a portfolio of billing attorneys.
• Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests.
• Process write-offs following Firm policy.
• Handle a high volume of complex bills with multiple discounts and split-party billing.
• Interact with attorneys, secretaries, and clients to communicate billing information.
• Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues.
• Collaborate with applications team to create and implement new billing formats.
• Create and distribute monthly reports.
• Adhere to Firm billing policies.
• Use CMS, Elite, Javelan, Excel, and Word to perform duties.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
