Job summary

Orrick is seeking a Billing Analyst to join our West Coast offices. The role involves creating billing schedules, maintaining attorney portfolios, reviewing pre-bills, and processing write-offs in line with firm policy.

Candidates should have accounting education or degree and 1–3+ years of legal billing experience, with CMS/Elite/Javelan proficiency and strong MS Office skills. Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability are essential.

Qualifications

• College level accounting classes or Accounting Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–3 or more years hands-on billing experience in a law firm.
• CMS, Elite, Javelan (or equivalent accounting software) experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Create billing schedules and various other billing analyses as required.
• Maintain a portfolio of billing attorneys.
• Review and edit pre-bills in response to attorney and secretary requests.
• Process write-offs following Firm policy.
• Handle a high volume of complex bills in a timely manner.
• Interact with attorneys, secretaries, and clients.
• Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
• Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues.
• Work with applications team to create and implement new billing formats.
• Create and distribute monthly reports.
• Adhere to Firm billing policies.
• Utilize CMS, Elite, Javelan, Excel, Word for duties.
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• Assist with special projects and other duties.
