Job summary

The City of Lynchburg Human Services agency seeks a seasoned manager to plan, organize, and direct the operation of public assistance programs within the Benefits section, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

You will supervise five Benefit Programs Supervisors, guide staff, coordinate training, monitor performance, and collaborate with regional and state officials to deliver essential services to citizens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, management, or related field.
• Experience in Benefits programs, including supervisory/managerial capacity.
• Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws and policies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct workload for all Benefit Programs units.
• Supervise Supervisors; set expectations and evaluate performance.
• Coordinate training and developmental needs of the Benefits Section.
• Monitor program outcomes and compliance with laws, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with regional/state officials to ensure service delivery.
