Job summary

The City of Lynchburg, VA seeks a Benefit Programs Manager to plan, organize and direct public assistance programs for the Human Services Department. You will supervise six Benefits Supervisors, ensure compliance with applicable laws, and guide program strategy and performance using data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human services, management, or related field.
• Supervisory/managerial experience in benefits programs.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Completion of IS100 and IS700 NIMS training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct workload for all Benefit Programs units.
• Coordinate and evaluate performance of the Benefits Section.
• Supervise six Benefit Programs Supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
• Analyze program data to inform decisions and resource allocation.
• Prepare reports on program performance and service delivery.
