Job summary

Border States is seeking a Manager of Benefits to lead strategy, governance, and administration of employee benefits, ESOP, and related programs. The role partners with HR, payroll, and finance to optimize plans, control costs, and ensure compliance across ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA.

The Benefits Manager will supervise the Benefits team, drive open enrollment, and collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to improve the employee-owner experience and service delivery.

Qualifications

• 4-year business or HR degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years' prior work experience with benefits or wellness programs preferred.
• HR certification a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and oversight for the administration, support, and communication of all company benefit plans.
• Partners with the benefits broker and Director to evaluate plan utilization, costs, market trends, and regulatory developments.
• Leads the annual review of benefit programs and recommends plan design changes balancing cost and compliance.
• Oversees ESOP and 401(k) administration, reporting, and participant education and support.
