Job summary

Border States in Fargo, ND seeks a Manager of Benefits to lead strategy and administration of health, welfare, retirement, ESOP, and leave programs. You will partner with brokers, payroll, finance, and HR leadership to optimize plan performance and cost management while upholding our employee-owner culture.

You will supervise the Benefits team, drive annual reviews, ensure ERISA/ACA/COBRA/HIPAA compliance, oversee open enrollment, audits, and vendor contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR or related field.
• 10+ years’ experience in benefits/wellness programs preferred.
• HR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration and communication of all company benefit plans.
• Partner with broker and Director to evaluate plan utilization, costs, and regulatory developments.
• Oversee annual benefits renewal and plan design changes.
• Manage ESOP and 401(k) administration, audits, and compliance.
• Oversee open enrollment, leave administration, and HRIS system enhancements.
• Supervise and develop the Benefits team.
