Job summary

McGuireWoods LLP seeks a Manager, Strategic BD Operations to drive the Practice Group Program, linking Co-Leaders with the Marketing & BD team to execute go-to-market strategies and SMART goals across practice groups. The role emphasizes operational excellence, governance of pursuits, and cross-group collaboration.

The candidate will manage onboarding, goal tracking, and performance reporting while supporting adoption of CRM/ERM tools and standardized workflows to ensure consistent market-facing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four or more years of business development and/or marketing experience within a law firm or comparable professional services organization.
• Demonstrated experience supporting or managing structured programs at scale, with consistency across multiple streams.
• Strong command of BD operational standards including RFP/pitch processes, experience management, CRM/ERM data governance, and pursuit workflows.
• Proven project management skills for conferences, events, cross-functional initiatives, and complex proposals.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative and relationship-oriented; able to coordinate across departments and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as operational liaison between Practice Group Co-Leaders and Marketing & BD to enable go-to-market strategy and SMART goals.
• Coordinate and maintain program infrastructure, including Playbook, onboarding sequences, and goal tracking across groups.
• Manage scheduling, prep, and documentation for annual check-ins, Advisory Committees, and GTM workshops.
• Coordinate new partner and lateral integration into practice groups within set timelines.
• Maintain transition protocols and active goal summaries when group assignments change.
• Ensure messaging consistency and coordinated outreach across overlapping practice groups.
