McGuireWoods is seeking a Manager, Strategic BD Operations to drive the Practice Group Program across offices. You will partner with Co-Leaders and the Marketing & BD team to execute go-to-market strategy, client targeting, and SMART goal planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; four or more years of BD/marketing in a law firm or professional services.
• Experience supporting or managing structured programs at scale across multiple streams.
• Strong command of BD operational standards, including RFP/pitch processes, experience management, and CRM/ERM data governance.
• Proven project management skills for conferences, events, cross-functional initiatives, and complex proposals.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative and relationship-oriented; comfortable across departments and geographies.
• Strategic thinker with understanding of market positioning and differentiation.
• Self-starter with discipline to translate priorities into execution.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to develop polished deliverables and thought leadership content.
• Experience with Foundation or comparable knowledge management and CRM platforms preferred.
• Technology-savvy; eager to learn and adopt new tools; Harvey access mentioned.

Responsibilities

• Operate Practice Group Program Operations; liaison between Co-Leaders and Marketing & BD.
• Coordinate and maintain program infrastructure, playbooks, onboarding, and SMART goals.
• Manage scheduling and documentation for annual check-ins, Advisory Committee sessions, and workshops.
• Coordinate partner and lateral integration into practice groups within timelines.
• Maintain transition protocols and active goal summaries during assignments changes.
• Ensure messaging consistency and coordinated outreach across practice groups.
• Execute standard operating procedures for pursuits, RFPs, pitches, and cross-selling.
• Support CRM/ERM adoption through training and guidance; ensure data quality and accessibility.
• Uphold quality standards for RFPs and pitches; align materials with positioning.
• Identify gaps and contribute to standardization of tools, templates, and workflows.
• Monitor KPIs, pipeline activity, and reporting; surface dashboards for leadership.
• Assist with web content updates and alignment of campaigns with revenue priorities.
• Mentor junior BD colleagues and contribute to onboarding and capability development.
