Job summary

SAK Construction is seeking a knowledgeable Business Development Manager-Technical Director to lead BD initiatives across sectors. The role requires forging and maintaining strategic relationships, driving growth, and guiding bids and proposals with regional leadership.

The candidate should have a strong engineering/ construction background, 5+ years in BD, and experience in negotiations, public speaking, and technical writing. MBA is preferred and DBIA certification is a plus.

Qualifications

5+ years in Business Development or Sales.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
5+ years forging and maintaining business relationships.
5+ years negotiating contracts and leading strategic pursuits.
Ideal: licensed engineer, DBIA certified, or related licensure.
10+ years in construction or similar high-paced enviroment.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations related to business development.
Provide leadership recommendations for growth initiatives in BD.
Lead alternative delivery pursuits and guiding partnering decisions.
Develop proposals, bids, and gather market intelligence.
Participate in national trade shows and industry events as requested by VP of BD.
Coach regional teams on BD relationships at multiple levels.
Develop high-level relationships with customers and engineering firms.
Identify, develop, and close BD opportunities.
