Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate Director of Program Management & Business Development to lead strategic projects enabling launches through new business opportunities. You will oversee due diligence, manage cross-functional teams, and support integration of opportunities aligned with strategy.

You will coordinate with external partners, contribute to negotiations, and present assessments to senior management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in the pharmaceutical industry with operations, program management or business development
• Technical education in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or Business; MBA preferred
• Experience in drug development (API, drug product, biologics, devices) and/or business development
• Proven track record presenting to senior leadership and influencing decisions
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix setting
• Strong analytical and financial acumen for due diligence and evaluations
• Solid understanding of drug development, regulatory and commercialization processes for evaluating opportunities

Responsibilities

• Maintain best-in-class program management and BD evaluation processes
• Ensure programs meet timelines, budgets and regulatory requirements
• Lead cross-functional teams for due diligence and opportunity assessment
• Manage external partner interactions for BD and partnerships
• Contribute to negotiation processes for partnerships and acquisitions
• Prepare executive briefs and presentations for senior management
• Communicate program status to stakeholders and executives
• Deliver oral and written presentations to seek approvals for new programs
