Job summary

AbbVie Inc. is seeking a seasoned Oncology Director of Business Development & Acquisitions to advance AbbVie’s R&D pipeline and commercial strategy.

You will lead analyses, coordinate with internal teams, and drive negotiations from initial discussions to contract execution, supporting growth across immunology, oncology, and neuroscience portfolios. The role requires frequent collaboration with executives, travel, and a strong track record in licensing and acquisitions within pharma/biotech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related discipline.
• 10+ years in pharma/biotech with licensing and acquisitions deal experience.
• Strong financial analysis and forecasting capability.
• Excellent communication and leadership of cross-functional teams.

• Support achievement of BD objectives and growth strategies.
• Lead negotiations and collaborate with legal for terms.
• Present opportunity analyses to governance bodies with clear rationale.
