Job summary

Seamen’s Bank, headquartered in Provincetown, MA, seeks an experienced Controller to manage accounting and financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role supports the President/CEO in driving financial discipline and risk management across the organization.

The Controller will oversee accounting staff, budgeting, and ALCO-related analysis, with progression toward Treasurer responsibilities and ALCO chair duties over time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5+ years progressive accounting/finance experience, with 3+ in banking or financial services.
• Experience in community banking, regulatory reporting, and financial controls preferred.
• Must have valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements per GAAP/regulatory standards.
• Ensure accuracy of general ledger and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare board/management reports with analysis and commentary.
• Coordinate internal and external audits; respond timely to inquiries.
• Support budgeting/forecasting; assist ALCO with liquidity modeling and reports.
