Job summary

Brown University seeks an Associate Vice President for Student Health and Wellness to provide strategic, administrative, and clinical leadership for medical and mental health services for students. The role oversees multiple departments and coordinates care delivery for a diverse student body, aligning with Brown's priorities.

The AVP will set policy, drive planning, and ensure integrated, compassionate care, with a focus on confidentiality and cultural responsiveness across the university

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree or terminal clinical credential in a health-related field is required.
• If MD or DO, current board certification (Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Family Practice) and licensure in Rhode Island with updated DEA certificate are required.
• Experience in a college/university health setting with diverse student needs is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, administrative, and clinical leadership for medical and mental health services.
• Oversee and plan clinical services and manage financial/administrative functions of the health care delivery system.
• Set and communicate policy for Student Health and Wellness.
• Lead collaboration across departments (nursing, pharmacy, radiology, counseling, wellness promotion, EMS).
• Ensure integrated, confidential, culturally responsive care aligned with division and university priorities.
