Job summary

Fairmont State University seeks an Assistant Vice President of Facilities to lead facilities, maintenance, grounds, custodial, construction, and utilities. This role develops policy, prioritizes initiatives, and ensures safe, efficient operations across campus.

The AVP will drive process improvements, oversee budgets, manage vendors, and collaborate with leadership to support the university’s strategic goals. This is a senior management position reporting to Finance & Administration.

Qualifications

• Seven years of senior leadership experience in facilities operations management.
• Preferred experience in higher education within West Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management oversight for facilities, maintenance, grounds, custodial, construction, utilities, labor crews, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to advance institutional goals and ensure safe, efficient operation of all facilities.
• Develop policy, standards, and procedures; manage budget and vendor contracts; oversee capital projects and deferred maintenance.
