Job summary

California State University, Sacramento seeks an Associate Vice President for Facilities Management. The AVP leads facilities planning, construction, operation, maintenance and repair, overseeing over 200 employees to support the academic mission.

The role requires collaboration with city, county, and state agencies, and represents the University on committees and at government levels. Evening/weekend hours may be required to support events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction, or a field related to the responsibilities of the position or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of extensive facilities management experience in a college/university or comparable environment of similar size and complexity.
• Financial management experience overseeing complex budgets with various funds.
• Experience as a supervisor or manager in a large and complex organization.
• Experience coordinating with multiple entities to accomplish master plans and multiple and complex construction projects from conception to completion in a centralized and highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of physical plant operations and construction management requirements.
• Organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities planning, construction, operation, maintenance and repair for a large university campus.
• Oversee space management and a team of 200+ employees.
• Liaise with CSU Chancellor’s Office, city, county and other agencies on facilities matters.
• Represent the University for facilities matters at government levels and committees.
