City of Arlington seeks a Director of Targeted Attraction and State Affairs to lead efforts that attract high-impact companies and strengthen the local supply chain. You will guide outreach, host events, and promote Arlington’s opportunities to executives and policymakers.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years in economic development or legislative affairs with Texas policymakers, plus strong communication and strategic planning skills.

Formación

• Knowledge of customer- and policy-facing engagement to attract business and improve economic outcomes.
• Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into actionable programs.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including policymakers, business leaders, and community groups.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Lead strategic efforts to attract targeted sectors and vendors to Arlington and strengthen the local supply chain.
• Develop outreach plans aligning relocation needs with Arlington assets and incentives.
• Host and participate in business events and economic forums to promote opportunities.
• Prepare reports on attraction activities and legislative engagement for EDC leadership and City Council.
• Monitor state legislation impacting economic development and funding strategies.
• Pursue business prospects through trade shows and meetings, including cold introductions.
• Coordinate with EDC Board to build target lists of scalable companies for attraction efforts.
• Collaborate with Marketing/Communications to promote Arlington as a premier corporate destination.
