The City of Arlington seeks an experienced Administrative Manager to support and implement initiatives aimed at improving the economic health of the community. This role provides executive support and office administration to the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director and other key Directors and Managers.
Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, travel, reporting, and project support for economic development initiatives; managing procurement and budgets; and representing the

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for supporting and implementing initiatives aimed at improving the economic health and growth of the community This position will provide executive support, including office administration to the Executive Director, Assistant Executive Director and other key Corporation Directors and Managers.

Ability to provide guidance, assistance, and/or interpretation to others on how to apply procedures and standards to specific situations. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to: Printers Multi-Channel radio. Copier. Ability to operate a personal computer, proficiency in MS Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate networking and off-site meetings as well as travel both domestically and internationally. Ability to exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards to meet variations in assigned objectives. Ability to calculate, compute, tabulate and summarize data and/or information. Includes the ability to perform subsequent analysis and actions in relation to these computational operations. Ability to work in an office environment and supporting a team; contribute as a team member and treat co-workers, subordinates, and customers with respect. Ability to be resourceful; detail-oriented; proactive; solution-focused; able to work independently; demonstrates strong work ethic. Ability to build professional relationships with internal staff and customers. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Qualifying Education and Experience: Associate degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public or business administration. Three (3) years of experience in urban economic development, business assistance, public administration, infrastructure development, commercial development, public and/or private finance, or workforce development. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid Class C Texas Driver License.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Knowledge of Software programs (including HubSpot). Knowledge of/interest in economic development principles. Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment. Ability to not be satisfied with the status-quo and continually looking to innovate.
Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Economic Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field.
