Job summary

L2 Brands in the United States seeks an Assistant Controller to lead the monthly close, improve processes, and partner with executives. This hands-on finance leadership role reports to the EVP of Finance and interacts with lenders and PE partners.

You will own the close, deliver accurate financial statements, manage audits and tax, build policies, and mentor the accounting team while supporting budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with 5+ years supervising a team.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent organization and close-deadline discipline.
• Clear written and verbal communication with staff to executives.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or manufacturing/private equity experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and year-end close with journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, reports and variance analyses for leadership.
• Support lender and private equity reporting, and covenant calculations.
• Lead audit and tax work, coordinating with auditors and filings.
• Develop accounting policies and internal controls, GAAP-compliant.
• Identify and implement process improvements for faster close.
• Coach accounting and collections teams and collaborate with sales.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for P&L and working capital.
