Job summary

Texas Southmost College in Austin is seeking a Coordinator of Assessment who will gather and maintain data for program and course assessment to drive institutional improvements in line with THECB mandates and accrediting requirements.

You will support faculty and staff in developing tools for assessing general education core objectives and student learning outcomes, coordinate workshops, and help prepare curricula changes and assessment reports.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Director of Curriculum and Assessment in design, implementation, and maintenance of assessment processes for course and program student learning outcomes and general education core objectives.
  • Updates program sheets and student learning outcomes and ensures they are posted to the website annually.
  • Gathers data to submit curricula changes to THECB’s database after approvals by curriculum and instruction committee and administration.
  • Gathers, formats, and stores assessment data for program review and annual learning assessment reports.
  • Coordinates workshops, seminars, and other assessment activities for faculty and staff.
  • Conducts focus groups with students, faculty, and staff to improve or address obstacles in student learning outcomes and core objectives.
  • Coordinates administration of various standardized national assessment instruments and disseminates reports across the institution.
  • Assists the Vice President of Instruction with coordination and presentation of instructional data.
  • Upholds the mission of Texas Southmost College and participates in the College’s Strategic Plan, trainings, and professional development.
  • Promotes positive morale, teamwork, and exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and the community.
  • Attends work regularly, adheres to schedule, and meets deadlines, including evenings, holidays, or weekends as needed.
