Job summary

Texas Southmost College on Main Campus seeks a Coordinator of Assessment to manage data gathering and maintenance for program and course assessment for institutional improvements in line with THECB mandates and accrediting requirements.

The coordinator will support instructional faculty, staff, and administration in developing effective tools for assessing general education core objectives and student learning outcomes at the course and program levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Data Management, or related field.
• Experience with assessment, data gathering and reporting for education programs.
• Ability to train and facilitate others on assessment processes.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Director of Curriculum and Assessment in providing direction and training to faculty, staff, and administrators on the design, implementation, and maintenance of assessment processes for course and program student learning outcomes and general education core objectives.
• Supports the Director of Curriculum and Assessment in the update and maintenance of program and course assessment plans.
• Assists with updates to program sheets and student learning outcomes and ensures they are posted to the website annually.
• Assists with gathering data to submit curricula changes to THECB’s database after approvals.
• Supports faculty, staff, and administrators in gathering, formatting, and storing assessment data for program review and annual learning assessment reports.
• Coordinates workshops, seminars, and other activities on assessment for faculty and staff.
• Conducts focus groups with students, faculty, and staff to gain insight into practices that improve student learning outcomes.
