Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Academic Program Assessment Manager to lead learning outcomes development, curriculum mapping, and assessment programs that support accreditation readiness and institutional effectiveness. You will collaborate across colleges and units to design and implement processes, templates, and dashboards that drive continuous improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, learning sciences, curriculum and instruction, assessment, program evaluation, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, learning outcomes assessment, educational analytics, or program evaluation.
• Experience coordinating complex academic processes and managing multi-modal data.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to train, consult, and communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a large, complex academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate institution-wide processes for learning outcomes development, curriculum mapping, assessment, and revision.
• Lead curriculum mapping initiatives supporting accreditation, program review, and academic effectiveness.
• Manage timelines, templates, documentation, and institutional repositories.
• Review learning outcomes, curriculum maps, and assessment plans for quality, alignment, measurability, and compliance.
• Support colleges and schools in integrating academic effectiveness into curriculum and instructional design.
• Coordinate the full assessment cycle for academic, administrative, and student support units, including planning, data collection, analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Administer the institutional assessment management system, including training, user support, data integrity, and reporting.
• Provide guidance on assessment methods, rubric development, data collection, and continuous improvement.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and summaries for institutional stakeholders.
• Ensure assessment documentation meets federal, state, disciplinary accreditation, and SACSCOC expectations and demonstrates the use of results for improvement.
• Manage assessment data systems, reporting workflows, visualization, and archival processes.
• Collaborate with institutional partners to ensure consistent data definitions and reporting practices.
• Develop evidence reports and documentation supporting accreditation, program review, and institutional planning.

Job Duties

Purpose:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Accreditation, Assessment, and Academic Effectiveness, the Academic Program Assessment Manager leads the operational functions that support learning outcomes assessment, curriculum alignment, academic effectiveness, and accreditation readiness.

The position supports the AVP in advancing institutional compliance with SACSCOC expectations related to student learning, curriculum, and institutional effectiveness. The manager provides operational leadership, analytical expertise, and cross-university coordination for curriculum mapping, learning outcomes development, assessment planning, continuous improvement, and evidence-based decision-making across academic, administrative, and student support units.

Serving as the campus operational lead for curriculum and assessment workflows, this position strengthens UT Austin's readiness for federal, state, disciplinary accreditation, and SACSCOC requirements. While the AVP establishes institutional strategy and policy, the Academic Program Assessment Manager implements and manages the operational processes that support those priorities.
Curriculum Design, Mapping, and Outcomes Alignment

Coordinate institution-wide processes for learning outcomes development, curriculum mapping, assessment, and revision.
Lead curriculum mapping initiatives supporting accreditation, program review, and academic effectiveness.

• Experience working within a research-intensive university.
• Experience managing assessment or accreditation software platforms.
• Experience designing and delivering interdisciplinary course assessments in support of student learning at scale.
• Experience with Watermark, Tableau, Power BI, R, SPSS, LMS-based analytics tools, or comparable platforms.
• A record of presentations, publications, or grant activity related to learning outcomes, assessment, or academic effectiveness.
