Job summary

US Foods is seeking a senior Category Manager to lead our Area distribution center category strategy and execution. You will align local assortment with national plans, identify growth opportunities, and coordinate with culinary, sales, and vendor partners to optimize profitability.

You will develop area plans, manage DWOs and conversions, and support bids with data analysis while ensuring customer needs are met. Strong presentation, teamwork and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in business or related field, or equivalent field experience required.
• Minimum 7 years category management experience, with some project management experience preferred, ideally from food service/manufacturing.
• Must operate effectively in a matrix organization and drive organizational transformations.

Responsibilities

• Develop implementation plan for category strategy customized for multiple Distribution Centers.
• Review Area product assortment and gauge penetration, identify slow or dead SKUs and growth opportunities.
• Ensure Area assortment aligns with US Foods category strategy and reduces SKU duplication.
• Lead data gathering on local market trends through culinary, sales staff, and vendor feedback.
• Finalize Area assortment and core/exception SKUs, and support area-specific bids and onboarding.
• Facilitate product training and new product introductions with DSS, Specialists and sales staff.
