Job summary

TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Collections Specialist to join the Shared Services team at the Indianapolis NBC Affiliate, WTHR. You will contact customers to ensure timely payments and work with station staff to minimize write-offs while maintaining strong relationships for the portfolio.

Responsibilities include AR reviews, daily balance analyses, and coordinating with Credit and third-party agencies. Strong communication and Excel skills are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years of customer service or B2B collections experience.
• Ability to determine which accounts require attention and prioritize actions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication including superior customer service.
• Strong organizational skills to plan daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform collection activity by reviewing AR reports and balances, with calls to minimize risk.
• Investigate and resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Schedule periodic calls with station personnel to review balances and actions.
• Prepare reports and analysis for review by others.
• Coordinate with Credit team to update credit profile status.
• Submit information to third-party collection agencies when assigned.
• Identify cash-in-advance accounts with debit balances.
• Document notes on accounts in WideOrbit.
